You adjust the timing on a motor by turning the endbell round in relation to the motor can. To increase timing (advance) turn it anti clockwise (looking down on the endbell) To reduce the timing (retardation) turn the endbell clockwise. Negative timing should not be used since it slows down the motor and reduces performance.
